On the way to Vietnam from China was
the worst road trip ever.
12 hours by bus to the boarder and another
12 hours train to Hanoi. The thing is, the bus road was terrible, storm and heavy rain when we got to the boarder, and train was terribly hot, hard seat, crowded (we thought we bought the soft seat with A/C but we got cheated). From the boarder to Hanoi, it is only 300km but it took 12 hours!! Can you imagine how slow this is? Motos were faster then us...
China's transportation is still very bad. The country's so big that people travel by bus or train often but very slow, dirty, and usually A/C doesn't work. I wonder what foreigners think when they come to China for the Olympics. As far as I've seen, Beijing is far from completion and it's less than 1 year till the Olympic starts.
